Miss University Mentoring Workshop
Two weeks ago, Sparkle Empowerment Program for Girls participated in the Miss University's Mentoring event held at Sip This. Professionals from the fields of education, fashion, marketing, medicine, and military fields were on hand to sit and speak with participants exposing them to various career opportunities. Many of the girls were very impressed by the Occupational Therapist, a career none of them had ever considered.
The girls also learned a few survival tips on navigating college life, how to obtain scholarships, and how to avoid the Freshman 15! To learn more about Miss University and to request a mentoring event for your organization, please click book below.

Volunteering at the "Wear it Again" Costume Party
On Saturday, November 5th, Sparkle Empowerment Program for Girls lent their talents to the "Wear it Again" Costume Party hosted by ValleyStreamMom.com. When asked to volunteer at the event, the talents of the girls became evident. They perked up when they learned there was face painting and baking involved. Who knew? That's what this program is all about. Discovering and sharing the talents of girls in the community with the community.
